ATLANTA- The Georgia State men’s soccer team will close September play on the road, facing head coach Brett Surrency’s alma mater Jacksonville Saturday night.

The Panthers are 6-3 this season and on a three-match win-streak, shutting out their last two opponents.

Senior Rashid Alarape leads the team in goals with six, ranking sixth in the nation for his three game-winning goals. Junior Hannes Burmeister comes in second on the team in goals, posting three this season.

Senior Yannic Horn has allowed just six goals, making 27 of the team’s 28 saves this year. GSU has outscored its opponents 12-6, scoring at least once in six of its nine matches.

Jacksonville is 0-7 this season, losing all four of its home matches. The team has scored just twice, allowing 13 goals.

This will be the 26th time the teams will face each other, with the Dolphins holding a slight 12-11-2 series advantage. Last season Jacksonville traveled to the GSU Soccer Complex, with the Panthers earning a 2-0 shutout.
