ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s soccer looks to build off its first victory of the year in its home match against UNC Asheville Tuesday night at the GSU Soccer Complex. Tuesday will be the first of four men’s soccer matches this season to be broadcasted live on GSU’s official audio and video service PantherVision.

The Panthers (1-2-0) come off a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over Lipscomb in Saturday’s home opener. Max Hemmings booted the equalizer with two minutes left in regulation, then Frank Rosenwald followed with the game-winner in the second minute of overtime. Hemmings fired six total shots against the Bisons, tying him for the most shots in a single match for a Sun Belt player this season.

GSU junior keeper Paul Tyson notched four saves against Lipscomb, the second time this season he’s had four or more saves in a match. Tyson is currently tied for first in the conference with 11 total saves this year.

UNC Asheville (1-2-0) aims to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat in its conference opener against USC Upstate Friday night. Izaiah Vignali leads the Bulldogs with three total points this season and has taken a team-high four total shots. UNC Asheville enters Tuesday’s contest ranked tied for fourth in the Big South in goals allowed with five.

Tuesday will be the 17th meeting between Georgia State and UNC Asheville. GSU owns a 9-7 advantage in the all-time series and won the most recent matchup by a score of 3-1 in 2017.
