ATLANTA – After picking up its first draw of the season in Saturday’s conference opener against Appalachian State, the Georgia State men’s soccer team looks to get back in the win column with a match against Stetson Tuesday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.

Saturday was the second year in a row GSU (6-3-1) and Appalachian State ended in a scoreless draw. While the Panthers’ defense pitched its third shutout in its last four matches, the GSU offense was shutout for the first time since it’s 1-0 defeat at No. 9 Louisville on Aug. 28.

GSU enters Tuesday’s contest tied for first in the Sun Belt in goals allowed with seven and is tied for third in total goals with 14. Lukas Joyner and Frank Rosenwald lead the Panthers with six points apiece on the offensive end of the pitch, while keeper Paul Tyson ranks first in the conference with an .816 save percentage on the defensive side.

Stetson (4-6-1) looks to bounce back from a two-game losing streak, falling 3-1 to Florida Gulf Coast in their most recent outing. The Hatters are led by sophomore forward Erwan Colas, who has posted a team-high 12 points this season, scoring five goals and adding two assists. As a team, Stetson ranks first in the Atlantic Sun with 135 total shots.

Tuesday will be the 32nd meeting between the two programs, with Georgia State holding a 22-7-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Panthers won the most recent matchup against Stetson by a score of 2-1 in double overtime during the 2012 season.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the GSU Soccer Complex. Fans can watch the match live on PantherVision or follow along via live stats at GeorgiaStateSports.com.
