ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s soccer aims to remain unbeaten on the year as the Panthers travel to take on Lipscomb Tuesday night in Nashville, Tenn. GSU will also look to extend its school record of most matches to start a season without a loss (9), as the Panthers surpassed the previous record of seven set in 1967 on Oct. 1 against Stetson.


◊ Lipscomb looks to snap its two-match losing streak, as the team returns to action after falling to Florida Gulf Coast 3-2 on Saturday.

◊ Killian Byrne and Ryan Dougherty both lead Lipscomb with two goals for four total points. Seven different players have recorded a goal for the Bisons through eight contests.

◊ Between the posts, Alex Brown and Michael Sibley have split time for Lipscomb. Both keepers have recorded 12 or more total saves this year.

◊ Tuesday will be the 12th all-time meeting between GSU and Lipscomb. The Panthers lead the series 10-1, with the lone loss to the Bisons coming on the road in 2017.


◊ Georgia State earned a 2-1 victory over in-state rival Mercer Saturday night, finding the equalizing goal with under two minutes left in regulation, then hitting the game-winner seven minutes into the first overtime period.

Matthew Fearnley ended the match with a career-high three total points, scoring the equalizer in the 88th minute before tallying an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime.

Dylan Morris scored the game-winner for the Panthers on Saturday, his first goal of the season.


◊ Georgia State owns one of the top offenses in Division I men’s soccer, ranking in the top-20 nationally in scoring offense (2.22), shots on goal per game (6.67) and shot accuracy (.492).

Aris Briggs has tallied nine goals through nine matches, tied for second in goals per game average (1.00) among all players in Division I men’s soccer. Briggs also ranks tied for sixth in both total goals (9) and per game (2.11).

◊ Junior midfielder Dylan Morris has tallied three assists this season, tied for the most among all players in the Sun Belt.

◊ The Panthers are ranked No. 7 the latest United Soccer Coaches Association Southeast Region rankings.
