CINCINNATI - In the first race of the season, Georgia State's cross country team had two runners place in the top 30 as the team finished in sixth at the Queen City Invite 5K, hosted by Xavier.
Lotte Meyberg was the top finisher for Georgia State with a time of 18:45, good for 23rd. Angela Alonso finished 29th with a time of 18:52. Morgan Laushey (19:05), Lindsay Shealy (19:39) and Ohio native Jordan Townsley (19:57) rounded out the team for GSU.
Dayton won the meet with a team score of 19 as they claimed five of the top seven runners.
Georgia State returns to Georgia and will next compete on Friday, Sept. 8 at the Kennesaw State Invite in Cartersville, Ga.
