ATLANTA -- Georgia State infielders Justin Jones and Will Kilgore have been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® baseball team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDa).

Both student-athletes are now eligible for the Google Cloud Academic All-America® baseball team, which will be announced next month.

Jones, a senior from Warner Robins, Ga., makes the All-District team for the third straight year. He is already a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American® after earning third-team honors in 2016 and second-team accolades last year.

Majoring in health and physical education, Jones has a 4.11 grade point average that is highest mark for among all 89 student-athletes honored across eight districts on the Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams.

The four-year starter at shortstop is batting .302 with five home runs, 12 doubles and 24 runs batted in.

Jones figures prominently in the Georgia State record book, ranking in the Top 10 in school history in career hits (226), runs (135), doubles (43), walks (88), hit by pitch (32), games played (207) and at-bats (777). He is the Panthers' career leader in fielding assists (587) and sacrifice hits (35), and he is one of just 12 players in GSU annals with 200 career hits, 100 RBI and 100 runs scored.

Kilgore, a senior from Columbus, Ga., is a first-time selection to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® baseball team with a 3.91 GPA in managerial sciences.

He is a three-year starter on the infield, primarily at second base and is enjoying a career-best season with a .320 batting average, three homers, 11 doubles and 24 RBI. Career totals for the three-year letterwinner include 12 homers and 66 RBI.

These two honorees give the Georgia State baseball program nine Academic All-District® selections since 2013, five of whom have gone on to earn Academic All-America® honors.
