Pitcher Hunter Gaddis is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines, after the Georgia State ace struck out the final four batters to lead the Panthers to a 5-4 victory at Georgia Southern in the regular-season finale, sending GSU to the Sun Belt Championship.

In a rare relief appearance, the sophomore right-hander entered the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning of a tie game. He needed just three pitches to strike out the Georgia Southern DH and cleanup hitter.

After the Panthers scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth, Gaddis struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to seal the victory.

In addition to qualifying the Panthers for the Sun Belt Championship, the win was Gaddis' ninth of the season to tie the Georgia State single-season record held by four other pitchers, most recently Will Campbell in 2011.

The sophomore right-hander leads the Sun Belt with nine victories while ranking in the Top 10 in ERA and strikeouts.

Gaddis and the Panthers open the Sun Belt Championship Tuesday vs. Little Rock at 4 p.m. ET at M.L. "Tigue" Field at Russo Park in Lafayette, La.
