DALLAS, Texas – Georgia State will spend the week of spring break in the Lone Star State for a full week of tennis. The Panthers (5-5, 0-1) are set to play four matches against SMU, North Texas, Cincinnati and UT Arlington.

The road trip begins with SMU Monday at 4 p.m. in Dallas. GSU will square off against North Texas Tuesday in Denton before facing Cincinnati Thursday and UT Arlington Saturday in Dallas.

"We are really excited to be in Texas for the week,” head coach Jason Marshall said Monday. “We are playing a lot of new teams that we haven't seen before. We have a lot of matches this week, but our girls are in good shape and it should certainly be to our advantage as other teams are also playing a lot as well."

The Panthers edged Southern Mississippi 4-3 this past Saturday to improve to .500 on the season. Freshman Damira Muminović clinched the match for GSU with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Golden Eagles’ Elena Roca.

SMU is ranked No. 43 in the country under head coach Kati Gyulai. The Mustangs fell to Wichita State 5-2 at home this past weekend. SMU won its first six matches to open the season and won three straight before losing to the Shockers last Friday.

Georgia State continues the week out in Texas with North Texas (5-9, 0-1) Tuesday, Cincinnati (7-4, 2-1) Thursday and UT Arlington (6-3, 0-0) Saturday for its second Sun Belt Conference match.
