ATLANTA- Georgia State women’s tennis is back in Atlanta for their first and only home event of the fall season. The Panthers will take on Air Force, Chattanooga, and Purdue as part of the Piedmont Invitational this weekend.

GSU is slated to play singles matches against Air Force and Chattanooga on Friday before battling Purdue in singles on Saturday. The Panthers will faceoff against the Boilermakers Friday, and the Falcons and Mocs Saturday in doubles play.

“We are excited about the opportunity to host three great teams this weekend,” said head coach Jason Marshall. “We saw some things at Regionals that we need to improve on, and we are looking forward to taking the next step at a team.”

Friday’s action will be held at the Sharon Lester Tennis Center at Piedmont Park beginning at 10 a.m. The matches on Saturday will be at Georgia State’s Clarkston Campus and are scheduled for an 8 a.m. start time.

The Piedmont Invitational is the third of four events for the Panthers this fall. Georgia State competed at SMU to open up the fall schedule, before sending six team members to the ITA Regionals in Athens last week. The Panthers will return to Athens next weekend to wrap up the fall slate at the UGA Invitational.
