FT. MYERS- Georgia State stumbled in a doubleheader Saturday, losing to both No. 18 Tennessee and Miami FL. The Panthers dropped the opening match of the doubleheader to the Volunteers 4-1, and fell 4-0 to Miami in the afternoon matchup.

Senior Kristin Rehse provided the day’s highlight defeating Tennessee’s Sadie Hammond 6-3, 6-2. Rehse is now 8-3 on the season and 6-2 in the number one position. Sophomore Arina Taluyenko was defeated in three sets by Gabby Shuck, stopping Taluyenko’s winning streak at six matches.

Due to injuries Georgia State only fielded a roster of five for the afternoon match against Miami, and thus automatically lost the number six singles point.

GSU will be at Piedmont Park for their first home match of the season next Saturday. The Panthers host Winthrop for a 10:00 AM start.
