The Georgia State women’s tennis team got an early start this morning, gathering for a team breakfast before making the quick drive to the University of Georgia for tomorrow’s opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Panthers arrived in Athens a little before noon and then took pictures and met with members of the media before getting to work. State had a full team practice at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in anticipation of tomorrow’s opening round matchup with the No. 7 Bulldogs.

Jason Marshall’s team will face Georgia at 3:00 p.m. Friday, with the winner advancing to Saturday’s round of 32. The Panthers (12-14) earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Sun Belt Championship in late April.

This is Georgia State’s third appearance in the NCAA Tournament in five seasons. In 2014 the Panthers shocked Tennessee en route to a 4-3 victory in the Chapel Hill Regional in the round of 64.

Tickets to the match are available at the box office outside the Dan Magill Tennis Complex an hour prior to each match. Adult tickets are $5, with children, senior, and student tickets available for $3.
