QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA- Former Georgia State women’s tennis player Abigail Tere-Apisah finished second in a $25k tournament in Queensland, Australia over the weekend. Tere-Apisah fell in three sets (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) to Olivia Rogowska. Tere-Apisah and partner, Naiktha Bains won the doubles portion of the tournament.

Tere-Apisah was the number seven seed in the draw and did not lose a set until the finals. The Georgia State alum defeated third seeded Erika Sema (6-2, 6-0) in the semifinals to earn her first ever ITF singles final.

Tere-Apisah’s doubles victory was her fifth in her career. While at Georgia State she reached the semifinals of the 2014 NCAA Championship, and held the number eight singles ranking. Tere-Apisah was a two-time all-american for the Panthers.
