*Senior Daniela Ramirez (3-0) will look to stay perfect in singles play.

ATLANTA- Ga.- After a 17 day lay off the Panthers will finally be back on the courts this Friday afternoon. Georgia State (1-2) will meet Alabama (4-0) in Tuscaloosa for a 2:00 p.m. first serve at the Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.

The Panthers will hope that the long stretch between matches did not cool off senior Daniela Ramirez who has won all three of her singles competitions this season without surrendering a set. Ramirez has paired with Andreea Stanescu for a 2-1 doubles record, while Eva Chivu and Damira Muminović are a perfect 3-0 in doubles play this season.

Both teams will be fresh headed into Friday’s match after being sidelined by Mother Nature this past weekend. The Panthers began singles play against North Florida but the match was eventually washed out due to unrelenting storms in Jacksonville, while the Crimson Tide had a trio of matches in Santa Barbara cancelled due to inclimate weather.

The two programs have not faced one another since a 6-1 Alabama win early in the 2014 campaign. The trip will be the first of two in three weeks for GSU to Alabama, as the team will play a pair of matches in Auburn on February 17. The Panthers went 2-1 in three contests played in the Yellowhammer State last season.

Live stats for the match will be available via the link on our schedule page.
