GSU fell behind early dropping the doubles point. The Mountaineers would take the singles point on court six by default and held a 2-0 lead heading into singles action. Freshman Eva Chivu would quickly cut into the lead with a three set win on court one. Muminovic would also win in three, evening the match score 2-2.
After dropping the first set, Daniela Ramirez battled back to win the second 6-4. However, Ramirez was outlasted in the third as App State regained a 3-2 lead winning on court two. Appalachian State would clinch the dual winning in two sets on court four. Anastasia Grosheva would take the first set on court five, but lose tiebreakers in sets two and three as the Mountaineers took the match 5-2.
Georgia State will look to rebound next weekend hosting the final three matches of the regular season. The Panthers will face Troy and Emory on Saturday and take on South Alabama in the regular season finale Sunday morning. All three matches will be played at the GSU Clarkston Campus courts.
