ATLANTA - Georgia State's track and field team heads to Arlington, Texas to compete in the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday through Sunday.

The Panthers will send 22 student-athletes to the meet, which is hosted by UT Arlington.

LaPorscha Wells will be looking to defend her title in the Hammer Throw. She currently holds the longest toss of the season in the Sun Belt by more than five meters (65.39m).

Ravin Gilbert scored the most points for the Panthers at the SBC Championships last season with a trio of second-place finishes. She placed second in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m Relay.

Alysiah Whittaker and Wells have the third and fourth best Shot Put throws of the season, respectively, among Sun Belt schools. Whittaker finished second in the Shot Put last season.
