ATLANTA - Ravin Gilbert, LaPorscha Wells and Alysiah Whittaker all qualified for the NCAA East Regionals this week in Lexington, Ky. Gilbert will compete in the 100m, Wells in the hammer and shot put and Whittaker in shot put and discus.

For Gilbert, it will be her fourth year in a row running the 100m at the NCAA East Regionals. Just two weeks ago, she broke the GSU record in the event with a time of 11.45s. That time, which ranks 32nd in the NCAA East, qualified her for the regionals.

Wells is qualified for the second year in a row in both events. She currently has the fourth longest hammer throw of the 2017 season, registering a distance of 65.39m at the Florida Relays. Two weeks ago, Wells won her third straight Sun Belt title in the event. She will also be competing in the shot put this week after qualifying with a distance of 15.47m at the Emory Classic.

Whittaker will be appearing in the regionals for the fourth year in a row in the shot put and second year in a row in the discus. She broke her own school record in shot put two weeks ago, finishing second at the SUn Belt Championships with a throw of 16.83m. That throw ranks 11th in the NCAA East. Whittaker's discus toss of 50.26m at the Georgia Tech Invite was good enough to send her to Lexington.

Competition runs Thursday through Saturday with certain portions of each day streamed live on SEC Network Plus. SEC+ is available online and on mobile through WatchESPN with an SEC Network subscription.
