ATLANTA - True freshman Seth Paige rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries to lead Georgia State's football team to a school-record 308 yards rushing in the Panthers' 46-14 victory over ULM. The performance earned Paige GSU Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
Highlighting Paige's day was an 82-yard touchdown run that is the longest run and third-longest play from scrimmage in GSU history.
Paige's 145 yards represent the highest single-game rushing total by a Panther since 2012 and the fourth-highest overall. He is just the second GSU freshman to top the 100-yard mark.
Led by Paige, a rookie from Macclenny, Fla., the Panthers' ground game led to a school-record time of possession of 38:12.
Paige's 82-yard touchdown gave the Panthers a 27-7 lead early in the second quarter. In the third quarter, he scored from one yard out, capping a 15-play, 90-yard drive that ate up 6:31 on the clock and gave GSU a 36-14 lead midway through the third quarter.
