What you need to know:
*GSU volleyball is on the road taking on Arkansas State and Little Rock this weekend.
*The Panthers rank in the top half of the league in digs and service aces.
*The trip will be the last weekend road trip for Georgia State this season.
ATLANTA- Georgia State volleyball is headed to the Natural State for a pair of matches against the Sun Belt’s Arkansas schools this weekend. The Panthers will battle Arkansas State on Friday night, and get together with Little Rock on Saturday. Both matches are set for 7:30 EST starts.
Georgia State will bring a strong service line attack with them on the road. The Panthers’ 131 service aces are tops in the conference, as are their 1.41 aces per set. Crystal Lee, Celeste Friesen, and Anna Rantala all rank in the Sun Belt’s top-ten in aces per set.
The Panthers have also been sturdy defensively and are in the top half of the Sun Belt in digs and digs per set. Friesen leads the way for GSU defensively. Her 434 digs are the tenth most in a single season by any player in Georgia State history.
The weekend marks the final weekend road trip for the Panthers during the regular season. Georgia State’s only remaining road game will be a rivalry matchup at Georgia Southern on November 8th. GSU has home matches on November 3rd, 4th, and 11th.
