Coach Sally Polhamus released the 2018 schedule for the Georgia State volleyball team Friday morning. The Panthers will play twelve matches at the Georgia State Sports Arena, and battle Ole Miss, Sam Houston State, and Chicago State as part of the GSU Invitational September 7 and 8.

State will open the season with a double header on August 24 in Starkville, facing Cal Baptist and Mississippi State at the Bulldog Invitational. The Panthers will take on Mississippi Valley State the next day.

GSU then takes a trip to Chicago to face Marshall, Loyola, and Furman at the Rambler Challenge August 31- September 1 before heading home for the GSU Invitational. The Panthers will wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule on September 14 and 15 in Clinton, South Carolina with matches against Presbyterian College and Davidson.

Georgia State will kick off conference play on September 21 at the GSU Sports Arena, hosting 2017 Sun Belt champion, Coastal Carolina. Overall, the Panthers will play nine conference matches at home and seven on the road.

Six of GSU’s nine home conference tilts come during a jam-packed October, in which the Panthers are home for three of four weekends. State hosts UT Arlington, followed by Texas State on October 5 and 6. The next weekend GSU hosts South Alabama and Troy, before closing out the month with matches against Arkansas State and Little Rock on October 26 and 27 at the Sports Arena.

Georgia State heads to the Yellowhammer State their first conference roadtrip September 28 and 29 taking on South Alabama and Troy. The team will battle at Louisiana and UL Monroe on October 19 and 21 respectively. The Panthers take the trip to Appalachian State on November 2 before visiting Coastal Carolina on November 4.

For the second straight season, the Panthers will end the regular season with a pair of matches against Georgia Southern. GSU will host that team from down south on November 7, and travel to Statesboro to wrap up the regular season slate on November 9. The Panthers swept a pair of matches against Southern last season.

Georgia State hopes that the season will culminate with a deep run in the Sun Belt Tournament, which will be held at the GSU Sports Arena. The tournament will take place November 15-18 with all matches being played in the Sports Arena.
