MOBILE, ALA.- Georgia State volleyball fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20) to South Alabama in Mobile Saturday evening. The Panthers are now 1-2 in Sun Belt play after splitting a trip to the Yellowhammer State with a win over Troy Friday night.

Crystal Lee extended her double-digit kill streak to three matches with ten, adding eight assists. Lauren Bandera led the Panthers defensively with 10 digs, and Meisheia Griffin and Sydney Stroud pitched in five blocks a peice. Griffin finished the road trip with 14 blocks in just eight sets.

South Alabama got out to an early lead in the first set and would not look back on their way to a 25-18 win. GSU took a lead in the second frame, but the Jaguars were propelled by a 9-0 scoring run late in the set to take a 25-18 win. South Alabama would lead the entire way in the third set, clinching the match with a 25-20 victory.

Next up for Georgia State is four straight matches in the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers will host the Sun Belt’s Texas schools next week, facing on UT Arlington Friday, and Texas State Saturday evening in downtown Atlanta.
