ATLANTA - Georgia State's women's basketball team was defeated 83-63 Saturday afternoon by Texas State at the GSU Sports Arena.

Georgia State led for 12:42 and held a one-point advantage at halftime, but Texas State outscored GSU 23-15 in the third quarter and 25-12 in the final period to take down the Panthers.

Francesca Minali recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and K.K. Williams led Georgia State in scoring with 12 points.

As a team, GSU out-rebounded the Bobcats 43-24 and scored 16 second-chance points compared to Texas State's 5.

The difference in the game was Texas State's ability to hit long-range shots, led by junior Toshua Leavitt. Leavitt went 10-for-16 from 3-point range to finish with 34 points.

Georgia State goes out on the road next weekend, taking on Arkansas State and Little Rock.
