ATLANTA - Georgia State’s women’s basketball team announced the addition of Griffin, Ga., native Victoria Middlebrooks Friday. She played her last two seasons at Southwest Tennessee CC.

Middlebrooks was named All-TCCAA in March after averaging 11.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals and leading the team with 1.5 blocks per game during her sophomore season. Coming in at 6’1, Middlebrooks poses a threat as both a guard and forward and played both positions while at Southwest Tennessee.

“We are so excited to be able to add Victoria to our Panther family,” Georgia State head coach Sharon Baldwin said. “She will fill a need for our basketball team as a great athlete, competitor and a winner on and off the floor. She will thrive in our up-tempo game.”

Prior to Southwest Tennessee, Middlebrooks attended Griffin HS just south of Atlanta and played both women’s basketball and soccer.

Middlebrooks is one of seven new student-athletes joining the Panthers for the 2017-18 season. Georgia State is returning several players from last season including the 2016-17 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Jada Lewis. The 2015-16 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Madison Newby also returns after missing the majority of last season with an injury.
