ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will host South Alabama in the Panthers’ final regular season match. The team will honor four seniors prior to the match as a part of Senior Day.

The Panthers are currently 5-5-6 overall (2-3-4 Sun Belt) and return home after a two-match road stretch in Arkansas. The team is tied for seventh in the conference with Texas State and UL Monroe.

Freshman Brooke Shank leads GSU on the offensive side of the ball, scoring four goals and taking 32 shots this season. Senior Alexis Thomas ranks second on the team with three goals and 26 shots.

On the defensive front, senior Amanda Bruemmer and redshirt-junior Brie Haynes have helped the team secure nine shutouts. The team currently leads the Sun Belt in shutouts and is ranked sixth nationally. Haynes has made 78 saves this season to rank third in the conference.

South Alabama comes to Georgia State at 11-4-1 overall (6-2-0 Sun Belt) and on a two-game win-streak. The team is in second place in the Sun Belt with 18 points and has clinched a tournament berth.

The Panthers and Jaguars will face each other for the 11th time in series history, with the Jaguars holding a 7-2-1 series advantage. GSU competed against USA twice last year, falling 1-0 in the regular season and 4-0 in the Sun Belt Tournament finals.
