What you need to know:
* The Panthers will host Southeastern Louisiana Friday night in the final mmatch before a four-game road stretch.
* The match will also be part of a double header with the men's team who will kick off at 8 p.m.
* The team will then travel to Jacksonville, Ala. to face the Gamecocks.
ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will host Southeastern Louisiana on Aug. 25 as part of a double header with the men’s soccer team. The team will them face Jacksonville State in the first of a four-match road stretch.
The Panthers are 0-2 this season following two tough losses to UAB and Kennesaw State, with both matches decided by one goal. In the home opener against the Owls, GSU rallied from a 4-1 halftime deficit to fall 4-3.
Freshmen Alex Addington and Ashley Thomas scored their first career goals against KSU, while junior Caitlin Ray scored her first of the season with two seconds left on the clock. Addington and junior Monique Hundley lead the team in shots with eight each, with Addington posting three on target and Hundley posting five.
Southeastern Louisiana is 1-0 this season following a 1-0 defeat of Jackson State at home to open the regular season. Georgia State will be the first of three Sun Belt opponents for the Lions.
The two teams will meet for the sixth time in series history. The Panthers hold a 5-0 series advantage over Southeastern Louisiana, defeating the team 2-0 last year in Hammond, La.
Jacksonville State is 1-1 this season, falling 1-5 at Alabama and defeating Alabama State 3-1 at home. The team will host Middle Tennessee before hosting the Panthers.
GSU will meet the Gamecocks for the 21st time in series history, with the Panthers holding a 14-1-5 series advantage. The two teams last met in 2016 in Atlanta, where the match ended in a 0-0 double overtime draw.
Kickoff against the Lions is set for 6 p.m., and 2 p.m. against the Gamecocks. Live stats for both matches will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com. Parking and admission to the GSU Soccer Complex will be free of charge.
