ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will head to Cookeville, Tenn. to face Tennessee Tech in the first of a three-match road stretch.
The Panthers are 1-2-1 on the season, earning two shutouts in their last two matches. The team posted a 2-0 victory over Southeast Louisiana, with Suzanne Arafa scoring both goals. GSU closed out August play with a 0-0 double overtime draw at Jacksonville State.
Several freshmen are already making an impact early in the season, with five first-years playing in all four matches. Alex Addington is tied for first in shots with junior Monique Hundley, both posting 11 shots for GSU.
Georgia State will face a 2-1 Tennessee Tech on Sunday, with the Golden Eagles riding on a two-match win-streak. The team opened its regular season schedule with a 1-0 loss at Vanderbilt.
The two teams will face each other for the ninth time in series history. The Panthers hold a 6-1-1 series advantage, with the last meeting in 2015 ending in a 1-1 double overtime draw.
