ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will continue league play this weekend, traveling to UL Monroe on Friday and South Alabama Sunday.

The Panthers are 2-6-1 (0-2 SBC) this season and are on a two-match losing streak.

The team opened league play last weekend, falling to Texas State 3-1 and Appalachian State 2-1. Junior Yvonne Ploeg scored both goals for GSU and now leads the team with six goals.

Monique Hundley leads the team in shots with 23, just ahead of Suzanne Arafa and Brooke Shank’s 15 shots.

UL Monroe is 0-9-1 (0-2 SBC) this season and on a two-match losing streak. The team ended its non-conference season with a 1-1 tie against Southeastern Louisiana, a team Georgia State defeated 3-0.

This will be the fifth time that the Panthers will face the Warhawks, with GSU holding a 2-1-1 advantage. Last year’s matchup ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie.

South Alabama is 4-4-1 (2-0 SBC) this season and will enter the weekend on a two-match win streak. The Jaguars opened league play with wins over Appalachian State and UL Monroe.
