ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will host Louisiana tomorrow at noon, and will honor the 1997 team during halftime.

The Panthers are 3-7-1 (1-3 SBC), splitting conference play on the road last weekend.

Freshman Kayla Ruiz scored the game-winner over over UL Monroe, her first career goal, and sophomore Isabelle Grest scored her first career goal in the 2-1 loss at South Alabama.

Junior Yvonne Ploeg leads the team with three goals, and Monique Hundley leads the team with 25 shots. The team has posted four shutouts, with Brie Haynes recording three.

Louisiana is 5-5-1 (2-1-1 SBC) this season, coming to Atlanta one a one-match losing streak. The team lost to Coastal Carolina Friday night, falling 3-0 in Lafayette, La.

This will be the fifth time in series history that the Panthers and Ragin Cajuns will face each other. GSU holds a 2-1-1 series advantage, with last season’s contest ending in a 1-1 double overtime draw.

The 1997 team will be honored during halftime for their accomplishments, being the only team in program history to earn a conference championship and play in the NCAA Tournament.
