ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia State fell 5-1 Wednesday evening to No. 15/21 Georgia at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens.

The Panthers and Bulldogs were locked in a 1-0 battle until UGA pushed four runs across in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.

Georgia State created scoring chances in each of the first three innings but wouldn’t get in the score column until the top of the fifth when sophomore Skylar Mosel launched a solo home run to center field, her ninth career long ball.

Mandy Chance got the start in the circle for the Panthers and was effective over the first three innings before UGA got things going in the fourth. She didn’t allow an earned run in the first three frames.

Next up for GSU is the final home series of the season. The Panthers will host the Warhawks of ULM Friday through Sunday for three Sun Belt Conference contests. GSU will honors its five seniors Sunday.
