ATLANTA - Caitlin Ray hit a grand slam to lead Georgia State to a 10-2 run-rule victory in five innings over ULM in Game 1 of the series Friday at Bob Heck Softball Complex.

Ray also doubled home a run for her fifth RBI of the contest. She now leads GSU in both doubles and RBI on the season.

Georgia State pushed six runs across in the bottom of the second, led by Ray's grand slam, to open up a 6-0 lead over the Warhawks.

After ULM put two runs on the board in the top of the third, Baylee Sexton legged out a triple to left field in the bottom of the third. With two outs, Ray doubled home Sexton. Reagan Morgan then traded places with Ray with her own two-bagger to push GSU's lead back to six.

In the bottom of the fifth, Arden Jobe double home GSU's ninth run of the game. After Alyssa Ward came on to pinch run for Jobe, Morgan hit her second double of the game to score Ward from second and give GSU the run-rule victory at 10-2.

Emily Soles picked up the complete-game victory in the circle for the Panthers. Soles allowed one earned run on three hits over 5.0 innings of work.

GSU and ULM will play Game 2 of the series Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on PantherVision.
