LAFAYETTE, La. – Georgia State lost 10-2 in five innings in Game 3 against No. 10 Louisiana on Saturday.
The Ragin’ Cajuns took a 1-0 lead with two hits in the first inning before opening up a 6-0 lead with a five-spot in the third.
Georgia State got things going at the plate in the top of the fourth with a single by Kristin Hawkins followed by a Remington Hasty double. Gabby Benson then laid down a bunt and reached first safely before a throwing error allowed Hawkins to score from third and Hasty and Benson to each move up a base.
Baylee Sexton kept the inning going for GSU with an RBI single to score Hasty and make it a 6-2 game.
Louisiana took advantage of a pair of GSU errors in the fifth inning, pushing four runs across to end the game.
Next up for Georgia State is a midweek trip to Athens to take on Georgia on Wednesday.
