ATLANTA - Georgia State's softball team will play six fall games beginning with a doubleheader Sunday against Georgia Gwinnett. All six games will be hosted at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

GSU's doubleheader with Georgia Gwinnett will begin with Game 1 at 1 p.m. followed by Game 2 approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1. The Panthers then host Georgia Military next Sunday for a doubleheader followed by a doubleheader against Truett-McConnell on Saturday, Oct. 7 to conclude the fall season.

"It's all about experience," Georgia State head coach Roger Kincaid said. "We want to put our players in situations that prepare them for the spring. We've been playing against each other in practice for a couple weeks now so it will be nice to go up against other opponents."

While the fall games do not count on paper, it does give coaches the opportunity to see how newcomers fit in as well as how veterans are progressing. For Georgia State, three freshmen will be taking the field in a Panther uniform for the first time in Alyssa Brumelow, Skylar Mosel and Alyssa Ward. The Panthers are returning a strong core from last season's team that included GSU's home run leader Megan Litumbe and All-Sun Belt honorees Ivie Drake and Kinsley Jennings.

Admission is free and the concession stand will be open.

The Bob Heck Softball Complex is located at 2401 Wildcat Road in Dekalb County.
