GREENSBORO, N.C. – Defending individual champion Nick Budd shot a final round 70 to record a top 10 finish and lead the Georgia State men’s golf team to a sixth-place result at the UNCG Grandover Collegiate at the Grandover Resort.
A year after winning the event, Budd tied for ninth at 4-over. He led the Panthers in the final round as Georgia State shot a 10-over 298 to finish the 54-hole event at 33-over par.
“Nick played some nice golf today,” Director of Golf Joe Inman said. “However, overall we did not play to the level that we are capable of this week. We didn’t finish well today which cost us at least one spot in the standings. We also made too many big numbers this week. Hopefully, we can clean up that stuff heading into our final event of the fall.”
