ATLANTA- On the heels of an impressive performance at the ETSU Shootout, the Georgia State men’s tennis team earned a No. 30 ITA national ranking Tuesday afternoon. This is the highest ranking the program has seen, and the first ranking for GSU since ending last season at No. 62.

The Panthers are 8-5 this season (1-1 SBC), with wins over No. 37 Florida State and No. 49 North Florida.

Georgia State is one of only two Sun Belt schools to receive an ITA ranking, behind No. 28 South Alabama.

The team is led by junior Andrei Andrukhou, who is 7-2 in singles play and has earned two match-clinching wins. Sophomore Jack MacFarlane is just behind Andrukhou in singles play, going 7-4 and clinching a 4-2 victory over then-No. 27 Florida State.

The Panthers will head to Louisville Thursday on a two-match winning-streak, entering the match 4-2 in their last six matches. This will be the first of three mid-week matchups for GSU this season.

Louisville is 7-3 this season, riding on a three-match win-streak to host the Panthers. The Cardinals are 6-1 at home, with their only loss in Bass-Rudd Tennis Center coming from No. 1 Virginia.

The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Louisville. Live stats will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com.
