ATLANTA- Senior Andrei Andrukhou was named Sun Belt Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
The Minsk, Belarus native went 4-0 last weekend, helping the team to victories over conference foe Louisiana and UNCW. Andrukhou and new doubles partner Bailey Showers are undefeated, earning 6-1 and 6-2 victories at the No. 3 position.
Andrukhou clinched the match against the Seahawks and leads the team with three clinches this season. He is on a three-match winning streak and has won five of his last six singles matches at the No. 1 position.
Georgia State will return to the court this weekend, closing out the regular season Saturday at Middle Tennessee State.
