ATLANTA- The Georgia State men’s tennis team has earned the No. 1 seed in the 2018 Sun Belt Men’s Tennis Championship, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.

Quarterfinal action is set to begin Friday at 3 p.m., with the Panthers (12-10 overall) set to face No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina in the opening round. The tournament will take place over three days, with the winner being crowned on Sunday and receiving an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

This will be the third year in a row that GSU has earned the top seed heading into the tournament, winning the title in a thrilling 4-3 victory over South Alabama and an NCAA Tournament berth last season.

The Sun Belt Conference will host the tournament at the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga. The tennis center is located 30 miles south of Atlanta, off exit 61 on i85 South. Admission to the tournament is free.

Live stats for all matches will be available on the Championship Central page at SunBeltSports.org. Live streaming will be available for the semifinal and championship matches, and will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
