GWINNETT, Ga. – Kevin Huynh of Georgia State men’s tennis scooped up a pair of wins and made it to the quarterfinals in singles play over the weekend at the 2018 Grizzly Open hosted by Georgia Gwinnett.
Kevin Huynh finished the weekend 2-1, winning his first two matches before falling in the Quarterfinals of the Men’s A Singles Draw. He knocked off Federico Barbon of Point 6-4, 6-2, then defeated Hayden Cassone of Emory 3-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Also competing for the Panthers this weekend was Steven Huynh who finished with one win and one loss. He earned an opening-round victory over Tomas Fernandez of Alabama State 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 before falling in the second round.
The Huynh brothers also played in the Doubles Draw but were unable to make it past the first round, dropping an 8-4 decision to Cassone and Antonio Mora of Emory.
GSU is back in action Friday at the Southeast Regionals in Athens, Ga.
