ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s tennis finished the 2018 fall semester with a 3.21 GPA, putting eight of its student-athletes on the academic honor roll.

Andrei Duarte led the way by making the President’s List, an honor that is awarded to student-athletes who earn a GPA of 4.0 or better. It was Duarte’s second consecutive semester earning academic honors.

Patrick Lazo and Bailey Showers were named to the Dean’s List for obtaining a GPA of 3.5-3.99. Showers also earned academic honors in back-to-back semesters while Lazo earned the award in his first semester at GSU.

The Athletic Director’s Honor Roll List for maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher featured five men’s tennis players – Roberts Grinvalds, Giles Hussey, Kevin Huynh, Steven Huynh and Diego Padilha.

In total, Georgia State student-athletes achieved a 3.07 grade point average for the fall 2018 semester, with 208 individuals earning academic honors, including 46 Panthers on the President’s List.

The 3.07 grade point average marks the 21st consecutive semester, dating back to 2008, that the Panthers have maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher.
