ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s tennis rising junior Andrei Duarte was named a 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.
Duarte finished the 2018-19 school year with a 3.73 GPA, earning GSU President’s List honors in the fall and Dean’s List honors in the spring. Duarte also had a productive year on the court, as he picked up 19 wins in singles play and led the team in clinches with five.
To be eligible for ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must be a varsity letter winner, have a minimum GPA of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
