ATLANTA -- Georgia State's first Spring Football Game under head coach Shawn Elliott will take place on Saturday, April 15 at Grady Stadium in Midtown Atlanta.
The Spring Game will begin at noon, but a day of fun and activities kicks off with a free youth clinic at 10 a.m., with inflatables and an egg hunt for younger children. Admission for all events is free.
The youth clinic, which will be conducted by the Georgia State team, is open to all children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Participants can pre-register by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org in advance, or simply register at the clinic, beginning at 9 a.m.
A limited amount of free parking is available in the Grady High School lot, accessible from 10th Street. Shuttle service for students and fans will also be provided from the GSU campus. Fans can park for free in G Deck, adjacent to the GSU Sports Arena, and ride the shuttle to Grady Stadium.
Elliott, Georgia State's first-year head coach, and the Panthers began spring practice this week. Thursday's workout was practice No. 3 but the first in full pads.
"It's great to be out here actually playing some football, with blocking and tackling," Elliott said. "The physical nature of the game of football is what we're looking for. We want to be mentally and physically tough."
