ATLANTA – Georgia State has announced that the Panthers have added a home game for the 2020 season opening the year with Murray State on Sept. 5, in Georgia State Stadium.
The announcement comes just two months after Georgia State added five additional games to future schedules.
This will mark the second time the two programs have met as the Racers made the trip to Atlanta in 2011, a game that was played in the Georgia Dome.
Per the agreement, the game can be moved up and played on Thursday, September 3. That decision will be made at a later date.
With the addition, Georgia State is just one home game shy of having its non-conference schedules completed thru the 2022 season.
The 2018 schedule was officially announced earlier this year. In non-conference play, Georgia State will host Kennesaw State (Aug. 30) and Western Michigan (Sept. 22), while going on the road to face NC State (Sept. 8) and Memphis (Sept. 14).
In his first season at Georgia State, head coach Shawn Elliott led the Panthers to a 7-5 record, capped by a 27-17 victory over Western Kentucky in the AutoNation Cure Bowl for the Panthers' first bowl victory.
