> Georgia State concludes the 2018 season by hosting in-state rival Georgia Southern on Senior Day at Georgia State Stadium, Saturday at 2 p.m.


> The Panthers lead the series 3-1 and have won three in a row over Georgia Southern, including last year’s 21-17 victory in Statesboro on Penny Hart’s 9-yard touchdown catch with 2:31 to play.




> Eleven Georgia State seniors will honored pregame before their final game for the Panthers.


> GSU has already set school records with 1,963 yards and 21 touchdowns rushing. The Panthers are averaging a GSU-record 178.5 yards rushing per game, including 213.9 ypg in Sun Belt contests.


> Punter Brandon Wright was named last week as one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s top punter. He is the first Georgia State player to be a semifinalist for a major college football award.


> Wright is third in FBS with an average of 48.5 yards per punt and third in net punting at 42.7.


> QB Dan Ellington rushed for a career-high 113 yards at Appalachian State, the first GSU quarterback with a 100-yard game since Kelton Hill in 2011.


> Ellington is third in the Sun Belt in passing (194.9 ypg) and total offense (254.2 ypg) while accounting for 15 touchdowns with just four interceptions.


> Junior Penny Hart, a Preseason All-American, is GSU’s leading receiver with 48 receptions for 660 yards and two touchdowns, along with 99.1 all-purpose yards per game. In 2017, Hart led the Sun Belt Conference in 2017 with a school-record 74 receptions for 1,121 yards and eight touchdowns.


> Among all active FBS receivers, Hart ranks fourth in career receiving yards (2,941) and eighth in receptions (201).


> With 2,941 receiving yards, Hart ranks fourth in Sun Belt Conference history. Next up is No. 3 Jerrel Jernigan of Troy (3,127).


> With Hart at No. 4, Georgia State has two of the top four all-time receivers in Sun Belt history. Former Panther Robert Davis (2013-16) ranks No. 2 with 3,391 receiving yards.


> Also a dynamic weapon on special teams, Hart returned a punt 49 yards for a touchdown vs. ULM, the first punt return for a touchdown in Georgia State history. He is averaging 19.9 yards per return and has set the GSU season record with 159 punt return yards.


> One of just four FBS kickers who handle punting, placekicking and kickoffs, Wright also hit a 52-yard field goal last game at Appalachian State, the second-longest in school history.


> Defensive end Terry Thomas has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by CoSIDA. The junior from McDonough, Ga., maintains a 3.49 GPA in biological science. He is enrolled in the Georgia State University Honors College. Thomas is Georgia State’s 11th Academic Academic All-District selection in just nine seasons of football and seventh over the last four seasons.
