ATLANTA -- Brandon Wright, the No. 3-ranked punter in the nation, was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team, leading a group of seven Panthers honored by the league.

Wide receiver Penny Hart, the fourth-leading receiver in Sun Belt history, earned All-Sun Belt honors fo the third time with his selection to the third team, along with offensive tackle Hunter Atkinson. Quarterback Dan Ellington, guard Shamarious Gilmore, defensive end Terry Thomas and wide receiver Cornelius McCoy earned honorable mention recognition.

BRANDON WRIGHT (Punter, R-Junior, Atlanta, Ga.)

> First-team All-Sun Belt selection and Ray Guy Award Semifinalist, the first Georgia State player ever to be a semifinalist for a major college football award.

> Season punting average is a new Sun Belt Conference season record (previous record: 47.8 by Austin Rehkow, Idaho, 2014), while his net is the second-best mark in league history.

> Georgia State's leading receiver in 2018 with 49 catches for 669 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 17.6 yards per punt return with one touchdown.

> Ranks second in GSU history in career receptions (202), third in receiving yards (2,950), second TD receptions (19) and touchdowns scored (20) and second in all-purpose yards (3,497).

> Fourth among all active FBS receivers in career receiving yards and eighth in receptions.

> Set the GSU season record with 158 punt return yards.

> Returned a punt 49 yards for a touchdown vs. ULM, the first punt return for touchdown in Georgia State history.

HUNTER ATKINSON (Offensive Tackle, R-Junior, Flowery Branch, Ga.)

> Earns All-Sun Belt Conference honors for the second straight year after receiving honorable mention in 2017

> Three-year starter at left tackle who has started 36 straight games, rarely coming out of the game

> Leader of an offensive line that helped the Panthers set school record for rushing yards (2,057) and rushing touchdowns (21) and improve by nearly 60 yards per game over last season, despite starting as many as three freshmen.

> Blocked for four of the top 10 single-game rushing totals in school history this season.

DAN ELLINGTON (Quarterback, Junior, Olive Branch, Miss.)

> First-year starting quarterback who is third in the Sun Belt in passing and total offense

> Accounted for 17 touchdowns (12 passing, 5 rushing)

> Team's leading rusher with 625 yards, the third-best season total in school history (best by a QB).

> Threw just five interceptions, including a string of 149 consecutive passes without an interception, the second-longest streak in school history.

> Rushed for a career-high 113 yards at App State, just the second GSU quarterback to record a 100-yard rushing game.

> His rushing ability helped GSU rush for a school record 2,057 yards, improving by nearly 60 yards per game over last season.

> In his FBS debut, he threw game-winning, 8-yard TD pass with 41 seconds left to give GSU a 24-20 win over Kennesaw State. Was 20-for-28 for 187 yards and three touchdowns passing while rushing for 77 yards.

SHAMARIOUS GILMORE (Offensive Guard, R-Sophomore, Riverdale, Ga.)

> Earns honorable mention All-Sun Belt Conference honors for the second straight year.

> Two-year starter at left guard who has started 24 straight games, playing nearly every snap.

> One of the leaders of an offensive line that helped the Panthers set a school-record for rushing yards (2,057) and rushing touchdowns (21) and improve by nearly 60 yards per game over last season, despite starting as many as three freshmen

> Blocked for four of the top 10 single-game rushing totals in school history this season.

> Made history in 2017 as the first GSU lineman to score a touchdown when he recovered a fumble in the end zone.

TERRY THOMAS (Defensive End, Junior, McDonough, Ga.)

> Two-year starter at defensive end who was Georgia State's top defensive lineman this season.

> Also an outstanding student named to the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District team (3.49 GPA in Biological Science)

> Collected 46 tackles, with four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble

CORNELIUS McCOY (Wide Receiver, Freshman, Deerfield Beach, Fla.)

> True freshman who is Georgia State's second-leading receiver behind Penny Hart with 35 catches for 495 yards.

> Leads all Sun Belt freshmen in receptions and receiving yards.

> Averaged 14.1 yards per catch.

> Started every game and had at least one reception in every contest.

> One of four true freshmen to start and 17 to see action this season.
