ATLANTA -- The 2019 Georgia State football schedule, including six home games at Georgia State Stadium, is complete with today's announcement of the Sun Belt Conference schedule by the league office.

The 2019 season marks Georgia State's 10th season of football, and for the first time, the Panthers will open on a Saturday and on the road, travelling to Southeastern Conference foe Tennessee on Saturday, Aug. 31. This will be GSU's second visit to Neyland Stadium and fourth game against an SEC opponent.

The home opener at Georgia State Stadium is slated for Saturday, Sept. 7 against Furman. The non-conference slate also features an Oct. 19 home game against Army, which is coming off a school-record 11 victories in 2018, and a Sept. 14 trip to Western Michigan.

The Panthers open Sun Belt Conference play at Texas State on Sept. 21, while the Sun Belt home opener at Georgia State Stadium is two weeks later against Arkansas State (Oct. 5).

Georgia State's Sun Belt slate also includes home games against Troy (Oct. 26), Appalachian State (Nov. 16) and South Alabama (Nov. 23) as well as road tests at Coastal Carolina (Oct. 12), ULM (Nov. 9) and the annual rivalry game against Georgia Southern, which will conclude the regular season on Nov. 30.

Head coach Shawn Elliott's squad will face six opponents that played in bowl games in the 2018 season.

The two open Saturdays on the schedule are Sept. 28 and Nov. 2, meaning the Panthers will play four games, take a week off, play another four games and then an open week, and then finish with four straight games.

All game times and television designations are to be announced. Every Georgia State home game and every Sun Belt game, home and away, will air on an ESPN network.

Tickets for the 2019 Georgia State football season go on sale Monday, March 4.
