MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – With three golfers in the top 15, the Georgia State women’s golf team shot a 309 on Monday to move into a tie for sixth at the Sun Belt Conference Championship at The Raven Golf Club.

Sophomore Harmanprit Kaur led the Panthers with a 3-over 74 in the second round to move into a tie for 15th at 12-over par after making a pair of birdies during the round.

Senior Paula Zabarte, who continues to play the best golf of her career, is tied for sixth at 8-over par after shooting a 77 on Tuesday.

The Panthers are 56-over par and tied with Arkansas State entering the final round. Georgia State is just 11 shots back of third-place UT Arlington and seven strokes behind in-state rival Georgia Southern.

“Everyone played much better golf today,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “I was happy to see Harmanprit step up with a good round, while Paula continued to play solid. I also know that Chloe still has a very good round in her. We are going to come out and see how many spots we can climb on the leaderboard on Tuesday to finish the season as strong as possible.”

Freshman Chloe Howard is tied for 11th at 10-over par following a round of 76 on Monday. Sophomore Grace Choi shot an 82 in the second round and is tied for 49th at 26-over par. Senior Emily Royer rounded out the line-up with an 85 and is in 53rd place at 37-over par.

Coastal Carolina shot a 2-over 286 on Monday and leads the 11-team field by 23 strokes entering the final round at 15-over par. Troy is in second-place at 38-over par, with UT Arlington in third place at 45-over par. Georgia Southern is in fourth-place at 49-over with Texas State rounding out the top five at 54-over par.

Coastal Carolina’s Malene Krolboll Hansen shot a 2-under par 69 and leads the tournament at even par. Troy’s Lindsey Harrison is in second-place at 4-over par, while Coastal Carolina teammates Frantiska Lunackova and Sena Ersoy are tied for third at 5-over par. UT Arlington’s Ava Schwienteck rounds out the top five at 7-over par.

The 11-team field will continue play at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday. Georgia State will be paired with South Alabama and Appalachian State going off at 9:10 a.m. ET off Hole No. 10.

With a tournament championship, Georgia State would advance to one of four NCAA Regional sites May 7-9. Regional sites include Stanford, Calif., Austin, Texas, Madison, Wisc., and Tallahassee, Fla.
