ATLANTA – Georgia State women’s golf coach Cathy Mant announced the team’s five-tournament spring schedule on Monday, highlighted by the program’s first trip to Hawai’i and the annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in March.

The spring season will open Feb. 20-21 in Florida at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club. It will mark the second tournament appearance for the Panthers at a tournament hosted by Jacksonville during the 2016-17 season.

The Panthers will open March traveling to Hawai’i for the first time in program history for the Dr. Donnis Invitational at the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course, March 14-15.

“We had an opportunity to go to Hawai’i for the first time and it was one we could not pass up,” Mant said. “I really like the entire spring schedule, but obviously this will be a special tournament for the entire team.”

The annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State will once again take place at Eagle’s Landing Country Club, March 26-28, in Stockbridge, Ga.

“We have a really good field for this year’s event,” Mant said. “We always get great support at our home event and we look forward to hosting again this year.”

The spring season will conclude at the Intercollegiate at Marsh Landing Country Club, April 3-4. The Panthers finished sixth on the same course during the fall, shooting a season-low 291 during the season round of the Jacksonville Classic.

The Sun Belt Conference Championship is schedule for the Robert Trent Jones Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala., April 16-18. The winner of the tournament will receive the conference’s automatic bid to NCAA Regional play which is scheduled for May 5-7 at four national sites this year.

The season will hopefully conclude at the NCAA Championship at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club in Sugar Grove, Ill., May 19-24.
