ATLANTA – With seven of eight members of the Georgia State women’s golf team earning academic honors, the Panthers finished the fall with a 3.71 GPA, second-highest among all female sports during the semester.
Entering the spring, the squad has a cumulative GPA of 3.66, second-highest among all female sports.
Maintaining a grade-point average of better than 3.0 for the 17th consecutive semester, the Georgia State department of athletics posted a 3.12 GPA for the fall term. The combined cumulative GPA for all Panther student-athletes now stands at 3.19, the highest figure on record.
Nearly 200 student-athletes earned academic honors for the fall semester, led by 41 Panthers on the President's List, Georgia State's highest academic distinction that recognizes a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher with at least nine credit hours.
Another 75 individuals earned Dean's List status with a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher, followed by 80 student-athletes on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Georgia State will return to the course Feb. 20-21 for the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville in Amelia Island, Fla.
