ATLANTA – Coming off the first tournament of the fall, Georgia State women’s golf head coach Cathy Mant announced the team’s four-tournament spring schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in March.

The spring season will once again open Feb. 18-19 in Florida at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club. Last season, the Panthers finished tied for fifth on the same course to open the spring.

A month later the Panthers will play in the Bama Beach Bash March 16-18, for the first time. The event in Mobile, Ala., will be hosted at Gulf Shores Golf Club.

Just over a week later the Panthers will return home for the annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle’s Landing Country Club, March 25-27, in Stockbridge, Ga. It will mark the 25th playing of the event and 18th year at Eagle’s Landing.

“We have a really good field for this year’s event,” Mant said. “We always get great support at our home event and we look forward to hosting again this year.”

The spring season will conclude April 2-3, at the Charleston Invitational in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., at RiverTowne Country Club.

“Overall, I think this is a very good schedule that will set us up for the conference tournament and hopefully a return to postseason play,” Mant said.

The Sun Belt Conference Championship is scheduled for The Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla., April 15-17. The winner of the tournament will receive the conference’s automatic bid to NCAA Regional play which is scheduled for May 7-9 at four national sites this year.

The season will hopefully conclude at the NCAA Championship at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., May 19-24.

Georgia State will return to the course on Monday for the Jacksonville Classic at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. It will mark the second of five tournaments this fall.
