The Georgia State Cheerleaders, Pantherettes, and Team Pounce attended a UCA and UDA College Spirit Camp this past weekend at East Tennessee State where they were recognized with the “Overall Program Improvement Award” for evolving into one of the top Spirit Programs in the country. They were also awarded the “Leadership Award” which is decided by votes from the participants at the camp. 

“Everyone worked very hard for the past week, pushing each other to best the best that can be," head coach Darryl Lyons said. "I am extremely very proud of this group!” 

Other schools in attendance at the camp included Memphis, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, Appalachian State, Morehead State, Tennessee, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio), Tennessee Tech, and Wake Forest. 

The Georgia State spirit teams will help kick off the football season on August 30.
