The Georgia State Spirit squad recently attended the College Spirit Camp held at East Tennessee State where they endured five days of grueling hard work preparing for the season.
During the camp, the team received several recognitions. The Pantherettes dance team received first place in the routine that they took to camp and performed on the first night, as well as daily superior awards, took first place in Fight Song, and the Overall Program Improvement Award. The cheerleaders also received daily superior awards. The All-Girl team took first place in the Fight Song competition, as well as being awarded the Program Improvement Award.
Along with Georgia State, Appalachian State and Troy joined the competition from the Sun Belt. Morehead State, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio), Tennessee Tech, South Florida, Memphis, Tennessee, and Kentucky were also in attendance.
The squad will return to campus on August 19 to prepare for all the exciting events leading up to the first game at Tennessee on August 31. The program’s first home appearance will be on September 7 at Georgia State Stadium as the Panthers take on Furman. Tickets can be purchased today by clicking here.
