ATLANTA --Georgia State senior forward Jeff Thomas has been named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a perfect 2-0 week with wins over Troy and South Alabama while averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game.

Thomas shot 11-of-18 from the floor and 7-of-10 from 3-point range in the two wins, while knocking down 3-of-4 from the free throw line.

He opened the week with 11 points and five rebounds in Georgia State’s win over Troy. Thomas went 4-of-5 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from 3-point range while also recording a blocked shot and a steal.

On Friday Thomas finished with 21 points and seven rebounds as the Panthers overcame an 18-point deficit to South Alabama to earn a nine point win. Thomas went 7-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. He also went 3-of-4 at the free throw line.

For the season Thomas is averaging 11.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor and 39.6 percent from 3-point range.

Georgia State will return to the court at Appalachian State on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
